I am an oxymoron. I enjoy the modern global world- eating sushi and thai and connecting with people via the internet – while at the same time am craving to participate in processes of yesteryear like knitting, quilting, canning, and shopping & eating locally. I love the energy and stimulation of urban life, but also dream of having a cottage near a beach cliff where I can find quiet and be self sustainable. I love being coined as “chic” while as the same time pride myself on being frugal.

This blog embraces that yin and yang of what has become my life. And serves to bring together others whom share this quest for balance between where they are physically, mentally and spirtually. The title of this blog embodies my sentiments about this teetering between two “styles” of life. It is taken from the U2 lyric “She is running to stand still”.

In this blog I focus mainly on my primary interests of parenting, nesting, feasting, creating, adorning, and exploring. The intention is that it becomes like a pinboard of ideas and thoughts for other like minded persons to share and partake in.
