Let Yourself Fall in Love Everyday

I adore the fashion blog The Satorialist. His photography is so stunning. I came across the following Intel (extended) commercial about Mr. Satorialist on Create Change/Expand the Good. I love that he is self-taught and that his love of fashion and his enjoyment of being in the world and interacting with visual culture organically and instinctually transpired into him being THE fashion blogger.

Here is the “commercial” featuring Scott “The Storialist”:

“I feel very lucky have part of my day leading a visual life…the real joy is having those 4 or 5 hours a day to just be in the world that your in, see it, keep your eyes open, and relate to what your seeing, react to what your seeing.

Here are a few Satorialist shots I love:

Fawning Over Friday: the chunky “bib” necklace

It began with this photo from The Satorialist

And this Oscar de la Renta at $800+ necklace – stunning

My attraction to this style is all very strange seeing as how I can be quite simple in my adornments. I am not a bling gal. I don’t do gems and diamonds. But here I am, pret-a-porter the way over-the-top numbers. I don’t know if I could pull off the”Satorialist” necklace – nevermind the earrings + the rings but the gigantic and shiney factor of these two pieces are very inspiring. To find some “bib” necklace inspiration, I found myself trawling the Anthropologie site (damn you Anthropologie) and found a couple of purty littl’ numbers.

I think what I love about these is the mix of materials (soft organza with wood, metal with glass, ribbon and glass) and all the juicy multi layered-ness. Yummy.

Then I was reading the adorable My Cakies blog and found this image of a chunky necklace she made.

Less in your face than the glitzy glammy ones. Doable right? I might actually be able to pull of this look and make it myself. Hmmm we’ll see if I can squeeze in some chunky necklace making time in.
